Artist: Steve Powers (ESPO) is a painter and conceptual artist whose work has been chosen for the prestigious Venice Biennale and the Liverpool Biennial. A co-creator of 2001’s acclaimed Street Market installation, Powers went on to re-create the exhibit as part of 2011’s Art in the Streets show at the LA MOCA. A Fulbright scholar, Powers is perhaps best know for his large-scale public works projects, such as the Dreamland Artists Club in Coney Island and the mural project A Love Letter For You in Philadelphia. He has exhibited his work at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Tate Museum in Liverpool, and elsewhere. Powers lives in New York City.
