Artist: Michael Adams is a sustainable development graduate from the University of Florida who is passionate about raising awareness about environmental issues such as plastic pollution and climate change. He is the founder of Kalu Apparel, Kalu, meaning “sacred earth” in the Guna language, seeks to bring awareness to the impacts of climate change and empower the women of Guna Yala to help preserve their culture.
His short documentary about climate migration in Guna Yala, Panama was recently published by Jorge Ramos, the main anchor of Univision News. Michael volunteers his time with local NGO’s such as The CLEO Institute and Sendit4thesea and is committed to working on projects dedicated to the creation of a more sustainable future.
